Left, Center, Right...

What is this craze everyone is talking about?

(LCR, short for "Left, Center, Right", is a very simple game. Yet it has acquired many fans from all over the world. It is played with three dice and a handful of chips, but it can provide excitement equivalent to a horse race at any gathering without the necessity of going to the track or of cleaning up after the horses. Yet the fact is in L-C-R there is little strategy involved. Once a player sits in on a game, the outcome is left entirely to the three dice.
Though LCR is often played as a gambling game, it is also an excellent game for young children. This seems incongruous, but played with chips, children are continuously confronted with the imperative to pass one or more chips to either the right or to the left. They learn the distinction quickly playing this fast paced game.) anon.

Do any of you play LCR?

The third Thursday of every month is a day I look O So Forward to!  A group of girls from our neighborhood get together each month for a little girls night out.  We call it LCR night... which essentially I guess is what it really is.   We all bring our favorite adult beverages and pitch in $5 & if we are lucky head home with more $mulah$ then we came with!

Besides the obvious reasons (winning money).... there is one other reason that I look forward to every third Thursday.  That one main reason is the friendship that comes with it!  In the past year that I have been a part of the group, I have met so many incredible women and feel so much more connected to the city.

I will be honest and say that as a young adult moving to a new city, (with little to no connections & a job that is not the best for networking....) it has been rather difficult to meet other couples with our interest.  I leave with the best feeling every girls night (disregard the feeling of too many adult beverages) knowing that I am making lasting friendships that will make our time here in Raleigh sooo much more enjoyable!

It is the third Thursday & tonight should be LCR night... but we have postponed til' tomorrow so we can go out downtown and celebrate the Christmas season.  I feel sure none of us will make any fiscal earnings tomorrow night.  One things is for sure... we WILL gain lasting memories!
